European Sprints & Hurdles Conference – Terms & Conditions

The European Endurance Conference is run by UK Athletics Limited and these Terms & Conditions apply to your purchase of tickets for the European Endurance Conference from UK Athletics (“UKA”) whose registered office address is Athletics House, Central Boulevard, Blythe Valley Park, Solihull, West Midlands, B90 8AJ, UNITED KINGDOM. Telephone: 0121 713 8400. References to “we”, “us” and “our” should be construed as references to UKA.

1. Introduction

By purchasing places at the European Endurance Conference you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. The terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

2. Making a contract with us 

2.1 When you place an order with us, you are making an offer to buy goods. We will send you an e-mail to confirm that we have received your order.

2.2 Once we have reviewed your order we will e-mail you again to confirm that we accept your order, and that a contract has been made between us.

2.3 In the unlikely event that the goods are no longer available, or that we have made a pricing mistake, we will advise you of this. You will not receive an e-mail confirming acceptance of your order, and there will be no contract between us.

2.4 Images of products on this website are for illustrative purposes only. Your goods may vary slightly from the image shown on the website and will not include any of the pictured accessories, unless stated in the specification of the goods. Whilst goods may be shown assembled they may require assembly by you.

2.5 We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colours of our products that appear on this website. However, we cannot guarantee that your monitor's display of any colour will accurately reflect the colour of the actual goods.

2.6 Whilst we try to be as accurate as possible, all information provided is approximate and is provided in good faith.

2.7 This contract is covered by English law.

2.8 By placing an order with us, you agree to and accept these terms, as well as our privacy policy and the terms of website use

3. How to place order

3.1 You can use our website to place an order by selecting the product you wish to buy and adding it to your basket. Items you do not require can be removed from your basket at any time. 

3.2 Carriage charges will be shown prior to you placing your order.

3.3 You will be required to pay for the goods in full at the time of ordering.

3.4 We use secure payment facilities for online purchases. 

3.5 Promotional prices only apply during the period stated.

3.6 All prices quoted on our website are in UK pounds and include Value Added Tax at the current rate.

3.8 Once your order has been confirmed, changes may not be possible or may incur additional charges or delays.

3.7 Once your order is complete we will notify you of the dispatch date.

4. Delivery & Carriage Charges

4.1 Goods will normally be dispatched from our warehouse within 11-14 working days and any estimated dispatch date is a an estimate, which can change without notice.

4.2 We will normally deliver goods within 1-4 working days of dispatch.

4.3 Your order may arrive in more than one delivery

4.4 We can deliver anywhere in mainland Great Britain and Republic of Ireland. Unfortunately we do not deliver to the Channel Islands or the Highlands/Islands of Scotland, however we are able to deliver to a mainland courier company on your behalf for onward shipping.

4.5 We will deliver the goods to the premises you specify on your order. You must be at home to accept delivery of your order. We will not accept responsibility for loss or damage if you instruct the delivery company to leave the goods unattended.

4.6 Most of our products are relatively weighty items and you may be required to assist the driver in offloading your order.

4.7 Disposal of packing materials is your responsibility.

4.8 Having agreed a delivery date with you, if you are not at home when we deliver the goods, we reserve the right to charge you an additional re-delivery charge.

4.9 If you change the delivery address once the goods have been dispatched to you, we reserve the right to pass on any extra charges made by our carriers for redirecting your delivery.

4.10 Please check the goods on delivery - any goods found to be missing or damaged should be notified to the delivery driver at the time of delivery or ourselves within a reasonable time.

4.11 If the goods are lost or damaged in transit, please let us know promptly.

4.12 Deliveries are made to the ground floor only and on the condition that there is reasonable access for the safe and prompt delivery of the goods. You should tell us about any special delivery requirements or conditions when you place your order.

4.13 Sometimes, for reasons beyond our control we may be prevented from delivering your goods as planned. These might include things such as accidents, breakdowns, fire, flood, storm, severe weather, acts of god, war, riot, civil commotion, malicious damage or the default of our suppliers. We will try to put things right as soon as possible however we can’t be responsible where this causes a delay or failure in delivering your goods.

4.14 Time is not the essence of the contract unless expressly stated otherwise

5. Cancellation and returns

5.1 This policy does not apply to goods ordered by businesses which are exempt form the Distance Selling Regulations.

5.2 You can cancel your contract at any time up to 7 working days after the day of delivery. To do this, please e-mail, fax or write to us. We are unable to accept cancellations by phone.

5.3 You do not have to give any reason for cancellation. However, a brief explanation will help us to improve the service we offer to customers in the future.

5.4 If you cancel, you must return the goods within 14 days, complete with the original packaging to us, at your own expense. You must ensure that the goods are packaged adequately to protect against damage.

5.5 You may properly examine the goods for 7 working days as you would do had you visited our showroom, however you may not return any goods that have been installed unless they are faulty.

5.6 If you fail to return the goods, we will collect them, and we will charge you the direct cost of collection. If you fail to take reasonable care of the goods before they are returned to us, and this results in damage or deterioration, we will charge you for the reduction in value.

5.7 We will refund all monies paid to us by you including any postage / carriage within 30 days, less any costs due under this contract. This cancellation policy does not affect your legal rights - for example, if goods are faulty or misdescribed.

6. Faulty Goods / Guarantee

6.1 If there is a problem with the goods, please contact us. We will deal with the matter in accordance with your legal rights.

6.2 All goods are covered by a manufacturer’s warranty against faulty workmanship and materials, subject to the terms and conditions of that warranty.

6.3 The manufacturer’s warranty is provided in addition to the rights that the law says you have as a consumer and accordingly, your statutory rights are not affected.

6.4 If an exchange is necessary, this will be arranged without unreasonable delay and without charge. Replacement goods will not be dispatched until the original goods have been received at our warehouse and checked 

7. Filming and photography at the conference

  1. Conference attendees consent to filming and sound recording as members of the audience.

8. Prices

  1. The price payable for tickets is the price set out on our website in Pounds Sterling on the date of your application.
  2. Our price is inclusive of VAT and postage.

9. Warranties and Liability

Whilst every effort is made to ensure that the benefits and services provided by third parties will be delivered and be of a suitable standard, UKA is in no way responsible for such benefits and services, which will remain the sole responsibility of such third parties. UKA makes no representation, warranty, recommendation or endorsement of the goods and services provided by such third parties and you accept that none is given or implied.

10. Changes to These Terms and Amendments to Content

UKA Academy membership is subject to such further regulations and conditions as may from time to time be prescribed by the UKA and published on our websites (http://coaching.uka.org.uk and conferences.uka.org.uk).

8. Data Protection Act 1998

UKA confirms that it will process your personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Statement signed by you on the application form and the Data Protection Act 1998.

9. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of England and Wales and the parties irrevocably agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any disputes that may arise out of, under, or in connection with these terms or the legal relationship established by them, and for those purposes irrevocably submit all disputes to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions, together with your application form, our current prices and contact details, set out the whole of our agreement relating to the supply of products to you by us. Nothing said by UKA should be understood as a variation of these Terms and Conditions or as an authorised representation about the nature or quality of any goods/services offered by us. Except for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, we shall have no liability for any such representation being untrue or misleading.
